Roof structures

High advertising

years on average lives roof structure

There are pretty many types of roof structures by their technical forms. The basis for any of the roof structures is the constructive, or the "box". That is in fact a sheet of metal having certain size and configuration (shape, bend) – it will be that very logo or name of the brand. The most advanced from the roof structures today are LED-type, because the LEDs themselves are the "discovery of the XXI century". The same LED roof structures are today the only type of such outdoor advertising segment which can be classified as a media format (if one assumes that media in this case is the possibility to transmit dynamic images and videos). So, there are two main types of media roof structures and they differ in LED solutions.

The fist type are roof structures with internal lighting. Here the LEDs are installed behind the face surface of the box and are mounted on the back wall. They light from the inside to the front surface (solid glass) which is most often covered by a film. Whether such film will be colored or transparent depends on the required result – brightness, saturated color or diffused light over all surface of the box. In addition, the mounted LEDs are, as a rule, of the same color as the film – that gives maximum brightness and color saturation. Such type of structure is probably one of the most practical, because even if one group of LEDs breasks down, the light will not weaken and will remain equal and effective. However, there is a drawback – only monochrome emission can be used in this structure, that is, one color only.

The second type are roof structures with external LED solution, where the emitter is installed on the outside. In such case all technical components, power supply units and wires are hidden inside the structure which is of course more “neat” and, probably, safer due to being located in the open. It is true that some technical specialists locate the wiring on the metal structure and near it, but that is the matter of aesthetic preferences and peculiarities of the roof. In such case it is the front wall of the box which becomes LED-based, which provides more opportunities for designing advertisement, creativity, and, as a consequence, attracting the appearance of the audience to the brand. The LEDs used in such roof structures are RGB (red, green and blue emitter in one cluster). One structure, as a rule, consists of 40,000 LEDs and more, therefore, cluster technology is used for mounting. The digital board installed in such structure is synchronized with the control program and the advertising vehicle receives a signal about what color it must emit in a certain period of time. Thus, we virtually get almost a LED screen capable of communicating a full-scale image, a dynamic image or a video. But that LED vehicle is made in the form of your logo or the name of your company. However, similarly to the first type of “roofs”, it also has its weak point – if a group of LEDs breaks down, there is a probability that from a small distance, say, ten meters, the blank spot will be visible by naked eye.

The roof structures with external LED solution are more demanding in maintenance, however, such problem is resolved simply and efficiently by quality and timely monitoring and repair. Large and responsible operators offering such type of outdoor advertising believe that monitoring is an integral part of the service and service maintenance for the client. “We monitor roof structures of our clients at least once a week,” said installation specialist at MAER GROUP media holding. “In addition, the specialists we use in the work are not just installers, but also have the necessary qualification for Electrotechnical works. Because the monitoring process is not only about inspection of the structure and checking the operability of the LEDs. We also have to carry out prompt maintenance and repair if necessary”.
